Pride Winnipeg 2017
Pride of the Prairies
This year we were fortunate to attend Pride Weekend in Winnipeg, and what an amazing time we had.
Main Stage
First, we want to thank whoever situated us right in front of the main stage. Not only did we get to interact with all the amazing people in attendance, but we didn’t miss an act all weekend. We couldn’t have had a better time. We were asked to be at The Forks on Saturday around 11:00 am so that we were all set up in time for the Pride Market to open at 12:30pm. It was a gorgeous day to be outside. Although this was our very first event, it went pretty smoothly.
The rainbow balloon flag as our backdrop, courtesy of RBC, didn’t hurt with our setup design either.

At the Forks in Winnipeg
On Sunday, things were much more chaotic. We had a lot of interest in our crystal pipes, and were thankful for the great performances on stage that grabbed peoples attention, otherwise we never would have gotten a break. We couldn’t tell how many people walked by, but it felt like thousands. The only place busier than the market was the beer garden, except when the Drag Show started. Those Sunshine Girls sure know how to work up a crowd. People literally flocked to the stage area when they were dancing, and for good reason. They were fantastic!
